ABOUT US

A heart filled with love has no room for hate.

1

Our Vision

Do not pass by someone in need. When you join our congregation, you join a community fed by love and hope, one in which everyone is welcome. Join us and discover the power of prayer, faith and humility.

2

Our Vision

Love thy neighbor as thyself.  This is not only a central tenant of Christianity, it may be the one that guides all else. To treat others with respect, kindness, and love is what we strive for, every day, in everything we do.

3

Our Vision

You don’t need a reason to help.  All you need is opportunity. Together, we'll find places where our assistance would be most appreciated and we offer help, guidance, companionship and love.

4

Our Vision

Your life is your message to the world.  Fill it with meaning and hope, with love for the Lord and with compassion for all of the Lord's children. You are never alone when the Lord is with you, and He is always with you.

This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for March 2, 2025. Rev. Hickman gives thoughts on "Full Moons and Werewolves". Based on scripture: Exodus 34:29-35 & 2 Corinthians 3:12-4:2. "Full moons have long been shrouded in mystery and legend, sparking imaginations with tales of werewolves and transformations. These stories capture the power of change under the light of something greater. Similarly, in 2 Corinthians, Paul writes of a different kind of transformation—one that reflects the unveiled glory of God. He speaks of boldness, renewal, and living as mirrors of God’s radiance. Today, we explore how removing the veil of fear and embracing God’s truth can transform us into His image. Just as the full moon illuminates the darkness, God’s Spirit reveals His glory within us. Let’s unpack this together."

This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for February 23, 2025. Rev. Hickman gives thoughts on "Going Fishing". Based on scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 & Luke 5:1-11. Today, we cast our nets into the deep waters of faith as we delve into 1 Corinthians and Luke. In these passages, Jesus calls Simon Peter and his fellow fishermen to leave their boats and nets behind to become 'fishers of people.' This moment marks a profound transformation—from ordinary fishermen to extraordinary disciples. The theme 'Going Fishing' reminds us that, like Peter, we are called to extend our reach beyond the familiar, embracing the divine mission to bring others into the fold of God's love and grace. Let us explore how we, too, can answer this call to be fishers of people in our daily lives."

This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for February 16, 2025. Rev. Hickman gives thoughts on "Plain Talk". Based on scripture: Luke 6: 17-26. Imagine the scene: Jesus stands on a plain, surrounded by a great multitude from all walks of life, each one yearning for hope and healing. In Luke 6:17-26, Jesus delivers a message that transcends social status, reaching the hearts of the poor, the hungry, and the sorrowful. This “ plain talk ” is not just about blessings and woes; it’s a radical call to live in a way that reflects God's kingdom. As we dive into these verses, let’s open our hearts to the simplicity and profundity of Jesus' words, and how they speak to us today in our own journey of faith.
