ABOUT US

A heart filled with love has no room for hate.

1

Our Vision

Do not pass by someone in need. When you join our congregation, you join a community fed by love and hope, one in which everyone is welcome. Join us and discover the power of prayer, faith and humility.

2

Our Vision

Love thy neighbor as thyself.  This is not only a central tenant of Christianity, it may be the one that guides all else. To treat others with respect, kindness, and love is what we strive for, every day, in everything we do.

3

Our Vision

You don’t need a reason to help.  All you need is opportunity. Together, we'll find places where our assistance would be most appreciated and we offer help, guidance, companionship and love.

4

Our Vision

Your life is your message to the world.  Fill it with meaning and hope, with love for the Lord and with compassion for all of the Lord's children. You are never alone when the Lord is with you, and He is always with you.

November 17, 2024
This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for November 17, 2024. Pastor Adams gives thoughts on "Jesus: For Real, Forever". Based on scriptures: Hebrews 10:19-25 & Mark 13:1-8, 32-33. As we gather today, let's reflect on Hebrews, which invites us to draw near to God with confidence, and Mark, reminding us of the signs of the end times. Together, these scriptures encourage us to hold firmly to our faith and support one another in love and good deeds.

This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for November 10, 2024. Pastor Adams gives thoughts on "Build with Jesus". Based on scriptures: Psalm 127:1-2, 1 Samuel 2:1-8; & Mark 12:38-44. "Unless it is the Lord who builds the house, the builders' work is pointless." These are the first words of Scripture we hear this week, and they challenge us to think - just what are we committed to building? That word, "pointless" occurs three times in two verses!
November 3, 2024
This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for November 3, 2024. Pastor Adams gives thoughts on "Remove the Stone". Based on scriptures: revelation 21:1-6a & John 11:32-44. This week, as we remember those who have gone before us on life's road of discipleship to Christ, we begin by hearing words from the Book of Revelation which are often shared at funerals and memorial services as reminders of all the ways God is ready and able to "remove the stones" which often seem as immovable as the stone Jesus command be removed from the tomb of Lazarus.
October 27, 2024
This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for October 27, 2024. Pastor Adams gives thoughts on "Yearning to Truly See". Based on scriptures: Psalm 34:1-9 & Mark 10:46-52. This week, when we are struggling to see the way ahead, what would the true vision Jesus offers give us? Are we, like Bartimaeus, willing to accept that vision and "follow Jesus on the way"? It's just 9 days until our general election, how can we truly see the way ahead? What's next? In times of great stress, we often retreat in order to recharge and replenish our hearts, minds, and spirits. That's a good thing, a much-needed think to do. We want, and need, to regain the Jesus-led and God's love-fueled vision we were created with. But when we emerge from that time of virtual blindness to the world, how has our vision changed?
September 22, 2024
This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for September 22, 2024. Pastor Adams gives thoughts on "No Matter What - Resist and Persist In Christ". Based on scriptures James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a and Mark 9:30-37. This week as we think about our own "no matter what", we are invited to journey with Jesus and His disciples along the road through Galilee. We hear Him telling them once more that He will be arrested and killed, and after three days He will rise up, conquering even the power of death. But once more, they don't understand. I mean, it does sound more than a bit impossible, right? They know they're supposed to understand by now, so they don't ask Him to explain.
September 15, 2024
This is the Sermon Podcast from First Christian Church in Kokomo IN. for September 15, 2024. Pastor Adams gives thoughts on "No Matter What - Directed By HIM". Based on scriptures James 3:4-5a, 7-12 & Mark 8:27-38. This week as we think about our own "no matter what", our Gospel reading invites us to listen in as Jesus asks His disciples, "Who do people say I am?" They have various answers. (easy when you're talking about other people, right?) But THEN He turns to them and asks, "And what about you? Who do you say that I am?" Peter speaks right up. He knows the right answer, the expected answer. "You are the Christ," he says.
